Alexandra Higgins

Dr. Higgins was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s and DVM degrees at the University of Florida. Go Gators! Her interest in veterinary medicine was sparked by her love of horses. She loves being a small animal veterinarian, and is so happy to be at Animal Health Care Clinic providing care to your fur family. Her professional interests are preventative care, dermatology, and internal medicine. 

In her free time, Dr. Higgins enjoys time with her fur family: Lily (an athletic, ball-obsessed shepherd mix), Ryder (a mischievous tabby cat), and Raymond (a corgi puppy).  She spends as much time as possible in the saddle, and competes at hunter/jumper shows with her trusted steed Fat-Fat (he came with the name, he’s actually quite fit-fit!). Additionally, she enjoys running and cycling.
